Event Name: The 38th Meeting of the ASEAN Working Group on International Investment Statistics (WGIIS)
Event Date & Place: 5-6 June 2024, at Settha Palace Hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR
The 38th Meeting of the Working Group on International Investment Statistics (WGIIS) was held on 5-6 June 2024 at Vientiane, Lao PDR, hosted by Lao Statistics Bureau (LSB). Ms. Phetsamone Sone, Deputy Head of Lao Statistics Bureau (LSB) delivered the welcome remarks and officially opened the meeting. The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Heidi Farah Sia binti Abdul Rahman, Acting Deputy Director General, Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy Brunei Darussalam.
The meeting discussed, among others, the implementation of WGIIS work plan, the result of the review of the WGIIS workplan, FDIS data submission and dissemination status, the Balance of Payment Manual updates and potential impact on FDIS compilation, the implementation of capacity building activities under ASEAN Help ASEAN Framework (AHAF) and sharing of country’s good practices on FDIS compilation.
