Event Name: 21st Meeting of Working Group on Data Sharing, Analysis, Dissemination and Communication of Statistics (WGDSA21)
Event Date & Place: 24-25 July 2023, at BPS-Statistics Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia (hybrid)
Anang Laksono, Head of Statistics Division of the ASEAN Secretariat delivered the welcome remarks. Ms. Pudji Ismartini, Deputy Chief Statistician for Distribution and Services, BPS-Statistics Indonesia also delivered her remarks and officially opened the meeting. The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Dwi Retno Wilujeng Wahyu Utami, Director of Statistical Dissemination, BPS-Statistics Indonesia.
The meeting discussed the implementation of WGDSA multi-year plan 2016-2025, ASI-CT data submission, ASEAN Help ASEAN Framework, country presentations, and updates on some activities. The meeting also appreciate the leadership of BPS-Statistics Indonesia as the chair of WGDSA 2022-2023.
The interesting thing about this meeting was it had three agendas in which the member states shared their experiences. Those agendas were:
- The big data pilot project implementation
- Utilization of social media
- Utilization of API for data dissemination
Despite the challenge of arranging a hybrid meeting, the ten member states participated actively in the meeting and provided valuable contributions.
