Event Name: The 10^th Meeting of Working Group on International Merchandise Trade Statistics (WGIMTS10)

Event Date & Place: ASEAN Secretariat, 10 – 11 July 2024, at Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR.

Participants: Members of WGIMTS and other additional members from related institutions i.e. Ministry of Commerce, Central Bank, and Customs Authorities.

The Meeting was chaired by Ms. Kanjana Phumalee, Director of the Division of Policy and Academic Statistics, National Statistical Office and co-chaired by Ms. Nur Indah Kristiani, ASEANstats. The Meeting was attended by members of WGIMTS and representatives from related institutions i.e. Ministry of Commerce, Central Bank, and Customs Authorities.

Ms. Salika Chanthalavong, Deputy Director General, Department of Economics Statistics, Lao Statistics Bureau and Ms. Kanjana Phumalee, the Chair of WGIMTS, delivered the welcome and opening remarks, respectively.

The meeting updating the data transmission protocol and ASEANstats’ IMTS Metadata; the effectiveness of IMTS data sharing and dissemination particularly the Quantity data submission and Mode of Transport dissemination; updates on the implementation of ASEAN-Help-ASEAN Framework (AHAF); and updates on International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS) manual by the members of UN Trade Task Team.
