The Second Regional Workshop on IMTS, supported by COMPASS and Vietnam Customs, was held in Hanoi, back to back with the Second ASEAN Working Group on IMTS. All ASEAN Member States took part to the Workshop (with representatives from Customs, National Statistical Offices or Central Banks) as well as ASEANStats.
The Workshop, facilitated by the IMTS Key Expert, Henri Tyrman, focused on specific issues, such as Trade by Enterprise Characteristics, Trade Indices, Processing activities, and CIF/FOB adjustment. All ASEAN Member States have presented the situation of IMTS at national level, main remaining issues and need for support.
The outcomes of the Workshop will be very helpful to define the COMPASS Work programme for the next year (2017).
The COMPASS IMTS expert participated also to the Working Group on International Merchandise Trade Statistics (WG-IMTS) held in Hanoi on the 13-14 October 2016. The expert contributed to the various discussions, particularly on data quality assessment.
